If you decide to enter the programme, you will have an intake with the rehabilitation specialist (as well as the head and neck surgeon, in case you were treated elsewhere). In the interview, you and the rehabilitation specialist together will assess the impairments/complaints you are experiencing. You then determine together whether you are a suitable participant for the head and neck rehabilitation programme and, if so, which goals you aim to accomplish within the programme and how these goals may be best realised.\u000DDuration\u000DThe duration, composition and frequency of the rehabilitation treatment depend on the goals set. This will be discussed with you before the start of rehabilitation. Where possible, treatments will be clustered on the same day. In general, the HNR period takes about three months.\u000DWhere?\u000DThe rehabilitation programme takes place at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Depending on the disciplines involved in your rehabilitation programme, you may be treated in different departments of the Institute. You may be referred to a rehabilitation centre in your neighbourhood, if desired.\u000DFor whom?\u000DYou are eligible for the rehabilitation programme if you:\u000D- have a tumour in the head and neck area, for which you will receive a treatment;\u000D- have had a tumour in the head and neck, for which you have received a treatment at the\u000DNetherlands Cancer Institute or elsewhere;\u000D- are physically and mentally able to participate in a rehabilitation programme;\u000D- are motivated to achieve the desired result in collaboration with your treating health\u000Dprofessionals.\u000DApplication\u000DYou may apply for the rehabilitation programme via your physician or other health professionals.
