In our Institute we have had a patient in whom the prosthesis caused esophageal obstruction, because it was trapped in a not yet detected esophageal carcinoma. In the literature, there is also a case report of sub- acute bowel obstruction in a patient with a history of abdominal surgery.103 Although rare, these examples should be kept in mind if the choice is made to push the prosthesis through the TEP tract into the esophagus. 104.
