Examples of this are the glossopharyngeal press (Damsté, 1979), buccopharyngeal sniffing (Moore-Gillon, 1985), and the buccopharyngeal manoeuvre (Swartz et al., 1987). Most of these methods propose the generation of retronasal airflow by creating pressure changes in the pharynx.
